Year of Mexico
2015 marks another interesting cultural collaboration, this time between the UK and Mexico.
This year, the UK and Mexico are getting together to promote each others’ cultures in the designated Year of the UK in Mexico and The Year of Mexico in the UK. This will be a great opportunity for Britain and Mexico to share and celebrate a whole range of events linked to the arts and culture of the two countries.
The idea behind this partnership is to share the best of the creativity in British art, education, science, technology and business with Mexico and also to help promote trade between the two countries. It is also an opportunity to forge new relationships between the UK and Mexico through scholarships, research and education.
The British Council in Mexico will be hosting a competition within the education sector for teachers of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (also known as STEM subjects). Mayfair School of English is very pleased to be working with the British Council again and will be offering one and two-week English language courses as prizes to some of the competition winners.
Watch this space for updates and, in the meantime, we are really looking forward to hosting the winners and giving them the opportunity to learn English at Mayfair.
