Travel London

London is Britain and Europe's main transport hub. With 5 airports serving the city and a direct train service to continental Europe it is easy to get here.

Plan Your London Journey

Journey Planner

Please type in your nearest Underground Station in the 'From' box to get directions to the school. If you would like to visit any other place in London, simply change 'Tottenham Court Road' to the station you would like to go to. Alternatively you can change the 'Station or stop' option to 'Address', 'Postcode' or 'Place of interest' if you're not sure about the station.

See the MSE - Finding the School site for travel information for when you first arrive in London.

London and Britain has an excellent public transport system with all cities, towns and villages within your reach. However, travelling in the UK can be expensive and is definitely not luxurious so below are some ways you can save money on your travel costs.

Domestic and European Flights:

There are many budget airlines that fly from London airports to all European destinations, the biggest two are probably Ryan Air and Easy Jet. Flights cost as little as £1.00 plus taxes.

Oyster Cards:

An Oyster card is an electronic payment system for London buses, the Underground, trams, London overground and the DLR.

An Oyster card can be a pay-as-you-go card or you can buy daily, weekly and monthly travel cards. It is much cheaper than paying cash.

If you study more than 14 weeks at the school you can also apply for a student discount oyster card. This costs £5.00 and gets you a 30% discount on your oyster card. For more information visit the Transport for London website.

Young Person's Railcard:

A Young Persons Railcard costs £24 and it'll save you 1/3 on rail fares throughout Great Britain for a whole year. The only restriction is that if you travel at or before 10am Monday to Friday (except during July and August) a minimum fare will apply.

You can get a Young Persons Railcard if you're aged between 16-25, or a mature student over the age of 26 and in full-time education. If you're aged 26 or over, you'll need to provide proof that you're a full-time student at a recognised educational establishment. You must attend for over 15 hours a week and for at least 20 weeks a year. For more information visit the Young Person's Railcard

Megabus

Budget bus travel between major UK cities, tickets start from as little as £1.00. See the megabus website.
