Football
Internationals are played at Wembley Stadium and tickets are usually very expensive.
In the Premier League you can watch Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham in their London stadia. Live matches are shown on satellite television and people usually watch them in the pub at the weekends. To watch a game at a stadium can be very expensive, Fulham is the smallest London club and tickets here are usually cheaper and available for most matches.
Cricket
The rules can be difficult to learn and games can take one evening or 5 days! London has two major cricket grounds, the Oval and Lords - the home of cricket. All about Cricket

Wimbledon is perhaps the world's most famous tennis tournament and takes place over 2 weeks, traditionally the last week of June and the first week of July. See the world's best players in action. A good way to get cheap tickets is to arrive around 15.00 in the afternoon and ask to buy "returns", tickets from people who have already left. Play often continues until 21.00 at night. |
Rugby
England international matches are played at Twickenham in south west London.

Playing
Oasis Sports Centre, 5 minutes from the school offers an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, gym, squash courts and exercise rooms.
If you enjoy running then London's many parks offer many different routes, Hyde Park and Hampstead Heath are perhaps the best.
Sailing and rowing can be done on the Thames.
You can also go horse riding in Hyde Park or on Wimbledon Common.
