Mayfair School of English awarded British Accreditation Council status

Following a successful inspection we are pleased to announce that Mayfair School of English has been accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC) until 2015. Alongside the British Council the British Accreditation Council acts as a quality assurance inspectorate for independent further and higher education institutions in the United Kingdom offering post-16 education. The BAC scheme ensures that highest standards of education are met and provides an invaluable guide to quality for prospective students seeking their next course of study.

New ABE programmes from 4 July 2011

Our school is accredited by the Association of Business Excecutives (ABE) to run programmes in Business Management and Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management at Levels 4, 5 and 6 of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). From 4th July our curriculum has been update to include the new ABE programmes as follows:

Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management pathway:

• Diploma - QCF Level 4 (24 weeks / 6 months)
• Diploma - QCF Level 4 + English language programme (2 x 24 weeks / 12 months)
• Diploma - QCF Level 5 (2 x 24 weeks / 12 months
• Diploma - QCF Level 6 (2 x 24 weeks / 12 months)

Business Management pathway:

• Diploma - QCF Level 4 (24 weeks / 6 months)
• Diploma - QCF Level 4 + English language programme (2 x 24 weeks / 12 months)
• Higher Diploma - QCF Level 5 (2 x 24 weeks / 12 months)
• Graduate Diploma - QCF Level 6 (2 x 24 weeks / 12 months)
• Graduate Integrated Diploma - QCF Level 6 (4 x 24 weeks / 24 months)

Students who successfully complete one of our Diploma programmes will be eligible to progress onto the 1st, 2nd or final year of a UK degree course (depending on the level of Diploma) at one of over 80 universities in the UK and around the world. Under current UK Border Agency rules the following entitlements apply to these programmes:

• The right to work up to 20 hours a week (depending on the level of study)
• Eligibility to apply for a single 2-year+ Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)

Business English course

This course is designed to prepare students for our MAYFAIR COLLEGE university pathways courses in Business Management and Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management. The course equips students with all the lingustic tools they need to thrive in the world of business and commerce. Students may enrol in any week.

    Mayfair School's British Council accreditation extended until 2014

Our school was re-inspected by Accreditation UK in November 2009 and our British Council accreditation has been extended until March 2014. We are also pleased to announce that the school has been awarded 'points of excellence' in the area of academic management and administration of students; for the full text of our publishable statement see here.



Semi-Intensive English language programmes

Study 5 mornings (08.30 - 11.50) and 2 afternoons (11.50 - 15.10) every week, 5 afternoons (11.50 - 15.10) and 2 evenings (15.10 - 18.30) or 5 evenings (15.10 - 18.30) and 2 afternoons (11.50 - 15.10).

Available at great prices, a 21-hour course gives you:

• 40% more classroom time every week
• The benefit of 2 experienced teachers
• A chance to meet more new friends

You can use your increased hours to:

• gain extra exam practice
• participate in more speaking/ listening/ communication tasks

Work Placement

In partnership with Professionals UK, we are pleased to offer *unpaid work placement positions to students who have completed a course at the school. These placements can be between 4 weeks and 6 months and in areas such as architecture, fashion, administration and advertising. A work placement can provide valuable experience in your field in an English-speaking environment and is a real strength on your CV. Many areas are available and at a very reasonable price.     Revised IELTS Programmes

We offer our students a choice of two IELTS programmes to cover both strands of the internationally recognised IELTS (International English Language Testing System) examination.

Our new IELTS for LIFE option is a General English course that prepares students to take the IELTS General Training Examination, which is useful for all students who require proof of their English level for general purposes and wish to bolster their CV. This course is suitable for intermediate students and above. Students may enrol on this course in any week of the year and need pay no more than our standard General English prices. 

In addition we also have a new, extended twelve-week  course of Academic English called IELTS for STUDY. This course prepares students to take the IELTS Academic Examination and is essential for all students who are considering applying to a university or college in the UK in the future. This course is suitable for upper-intermediate students and above. Students may enrol on this course in any week of the year.
