As we reached the end of May summer arrived in style. As the month drew to a close London basked in glorious sunshine and the city was transformed into a vibrant scene of colour and energy. If you can put up with the stuffy Underground trains, there is no better place to be than London in the peak of summer. The city is renowned for its many beautiful parks and squares and we at Mayfair are lucky to have Soho Square, one of the most famous of these, right on our doorstep. It is not unusual to find this grassy spot filled with Mayfair students taking the opportunity to soak up the rays and have a chat in between lessons. If you are anything like me though, I am sure you will agree that the best place to be on a hot day is by the river; and, it was with this firmly in her mind that Mary took our students on a guided tour of London’s beautiful Southbank area on the last Friday of the month – what a great way to round off May! But let’s not forget what went before it: Mike’s party night at the funkiest club in Brick Lane, 99 Feet East, Helen’s Chinatown food fest at Won Kei, Tim’s boogey night at Onanon and Mat’s excursion to the Natural History Museum.
It has been a month of growth within the school too as our numbers have swelled with an influx of students coming to study for the summer. And, as we head towards June there is a whiff of anticipation in the air as the inauguration of Mayfair College on 8 June beckons. We are proud to have been granted accreditation to run these university pathway courses by the Association of Business Executives and the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality and we firmly believe that our courses in Business Management and Travel, Tourism and Hospitality will provide a high-quality, cost-effective solution to the academic and training needs of our students. With our first Certificate class already full the future looks bright for Mayfair College and its students!
Stay tuned for another update in June!
