February 2011 Events
After a very busy and cold January by February our school’s programme of refurbishments was over 50% complete, with more than half of classrooms have been completely redecorated, re-carpeted and fitted out with the latest classroom furniture. We also inaugurated the school’s brand new Computer Self-access Computer Room; this room, which is aimed primarily at our Mayfair College students, provides users with their own unique virtual PC, accessible from any terminal, where they can save their own work and projects in a completely secure environment. Still we are not done yet as the month draws to an end there is still a lot to do in March. By the time we have finished we hope to have our building looking so shiny and new that you could eat your dinner off the classroom floors! Actually that’s not allowed – we have a separate eating area in our Student Common Room if you get hungry!...
As the London winter usually comes to an end in February there was plenty of reason to celebrate and this was reflected in our Social Programme this month. It all began on 4th February when Tara took our students to Salsa, one of London’s most famous Latin clubs, to show them exactly what she can do, salsa-wise, on the dance floor. Ben followed this up by injecting a note of culture into the schedule with a walking tour along London’s Southbank, home to same truly great views and some very nice pubs too! For those who like a competitive edge to their Friday nights Rafael provided just the ticket when he took students to practise their pool skills at the No 1 Bar in London Bridge. The programme ended as it had begun with a huge party on 25th February, this time the events took place at Pacha, one of the hippest nightspots around. As always you can check out some of the photos from our social events on our Social Programme Photo Site….
That’s all for now – check back in here for another update in March!...
