April is famous for being the wettest month in London so, all things considered, we got off lightly this year. Yes, there were showers but they were few and far between; and, anyway, London wouldn’t feel the same without getting soaked once in a while! Needless to say, it takes more than a spot of rain to stop Mayfair students from going out on the town in search of new adventures as this month proved. As part of our school’s Social Programme April saw our students visit the famous Tattershall Castle to admire the fantastic views along the River Thames, go dancing at Oxford Street’s newest night spot, the Social Nightclub, and let’s not forget how the month started - with a personalised, guided Jack the Ripper tour exploring London’s grisly and macabre, hidden past. Oh, you lucky students!
This month was also an important one academically as, due to overwhelming demand from students, six new courses were launched within the school. These included two new IELTS for LIFE classes, two IELTS for STUDY classes, an FCE class and a brand new course of Business English, aimed at preparing students for entry onto our new Mayfair College university pathway programmes, commencing in June. So as April comes to a close we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief and satisfaction.
Phew! Bring on May!
