September 2011 Events

Finally, things warmed up a bit in September as London experienced what is known in English as an ‘Indian summer’. In fact, by the end of the month temperatures had soured to nearly 30° Celsius, causing the beaches in coastal towns around London and the parks within to swell with grateful sun-worshippers eager not to miss the last opportunity to enjoy the heat.

With such good weather around it was fitting that our Social Programme for September featured no fewer than three outdoor events: starting with the outdoor event to end all outdoor events – the Mayfair Paintball Tournament on 3rd September – this is now the third time we have arranged this event with our two captains, Aman and David, and yet again poor David came off the worse; then, there was The Mayor of London's Thames Festival on 10th September, providing a veritable feast of cultural and gastronomic treats along the Southbank of the river; finally,  we rounded off the outdoor theme with Rafael’s (who better?!) tour of the best public houses in Soho – what Rafael does not know about pubs in the area is not worth remembering, which is just as well!…As if all that wasn’t enough, we finished September on a high as we held another Party Night at Pacha, one of London’s most famous nightclubs on 30 September. Why not check out the photos from these events on the Mayfair School Photo Sharing site?

There was more good news for the school this month as we saw our Mayfair College university pathways programmes in Marketing Management, Business Management and Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management bolstered by the addition of three new lecturers in the form of Gregory, Meenakshi and Mevin, all of whom come with a wealth of qualifications and experience, which we know will be of great benefit to our organisation. There were new faces in our English language faculty too as Simon and Charley joined the team, bringing with them over 10 years of combined teaching experience. Welcome on board the Good Ship Mayfair guys!

Well, I think that’s enough news for one month, check back in October for another update…
