May 2011 Events

The school enjoyed another busy Social Programme this month with a heavy emphasis on the ‘cultural’ attractions London has to offer. On Friday 6th May we kicked off the programme with a guided tour of Tate Britain from Roger, our resident art expert. Then, we followed up with an evening of liquid refreshment and refined conversation at that old Mayfair favourite, The Tattershall Castle, on Friday 13th May. Next, to take full advantage of the glorious sunshine that London enjoyed this May, we scheduled an early evening picnic in Soho Square on Friday 20th May, with ‘the hostess with the mostess’, Ruth! Finally, we wrapped up the programme on another cultural note when Roger showed off his knowledge of the art world yet again as he took students on a guided tour of London’s world famous Victoria and Albert Museum on Friday 27th May. Oh, you lucky culture-vulture students!...

This May also saw the school welcome a new member of staff to its fold with the arrival of Zita, our new Administrative Officer, on 2 May. Hailing from Hungary originally, Zita has brought a wealth of academic and administrative experience to our office team. By the end of the month she had already proved her worth and is now as popular with students and colleagues as she is invaluable to our school’s HR systems. Welcome on board Zita!

Did I say 'on board'? Well, forgive me the nautical metaphor but when I tell you the news, you will understand where it came from…Yes, that’s right, the school has just confirmed that next month will see the return of our Mayfair Summer Boat Party! Only this time, in celebration of our recent BAC success and 25th anniversary, we have requisitioned an even bigger boat (maximum capacity 180) so more of our students can join in the fun…The Mayfair Summer Boat Party will take place on 23rd June and tickets will be on sale from 6 June. They are likely to go fast so don’t hang around – it’s time to get organised with your friends now! You can see the details here.
