It’s been a long, cold and dark winter but finally, for the first time in a long time, the sun decided to reappear this month, reminding us all that spring was just round the corner. As usual when this happens our students took advantage of the school’s central location by making a bee-line for Soho Square to eat their lunch and soak up the warm rays.

The highlight of the school’s Social Programme this month came on 17th March, when Rafael re-connected with his fictional Irish routes by inviting students to join with him in a celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, the national day of Ireland. Needless to say the correct way to honour to this festival involves drinking large quantities of ‘the black stuff’ in a traditional Irish pub; lest there be any doubt about Rafael’s commitment to this task, we would suggest those in doubt refer to the photographic evidence that is to be found on the school’s Social Programme Photo Site.

Three other themes were represented in this month’s Social Programme:
- sport, in the form of Peter’s Pool Night, on 12th March, which involved potting balls, rather than swimming; food, with a visit to La Porchetta, to my mind the finest pizzeria in Soho, on 5th March; and, last but not least, science, with Zoë’s guided tour of the Natural History Museum, on 26th March. Who says students just want to go to the pub?!
