December 2011 Events

As the school closed for two weeks over the Christmas period (from 16 December 2011 to 3 January 2012) there was only time to fit three events into our Social Programme for December, nevertheless, as I hope you will agree, this month’s programme was the best of 2011. To begin with Meenakshi, our newest Mayfair Collegelecturer, took students to Westfield Shopping Centre on 2nd December to show them how to do Christmas shopping in style. The following week, on 9th December, Ruth escorted students to Waxy O'Connors, one of London’s most famous Irish pubs, to show them how the Irish celebrate Christmas - the same way they celebrate every Friday evening! However, these events were just appetizers before the main event not just of December, but the whole year….that’s right, the Mayfair School Christmas Party 2011!   

Once again our Christmas party, which took place on 15th December, was held in collaboration with PUNK nightclub, one of the must-be-seen-at nightspots for discerning celebrities looking for a good night out in London’s West End. Admission to the party was exclusive for Mayfair School students and friends with the event itself running from 6pm until, well, let’s just say until very late! All those attending enjoyed free drinks at the bar and, as if that were not enough, there was free sushi available all night, distributed by the most amazing, drop-dead gorgeous waiters and waitresses in London, which is to say our teachers! Over 300 students and staff attended and everyone had the best time ever…Heck, why don’t I shut up telling you about it and why don’t you take a look for yourselves on the Mayfair School Photo Sharing Site - I think the photos speak for themselves!

As December comes to an end and the curtain falls on yet another eventful year, it only remains for me to wish you a very Happy New Year!
